An MVP (Minimum Viable Product) is the simplest version that lets you test your core hypothesis with real users. 'Minimum' means cutting everything that doesn't directly test whether people want your solution. 'Viable' means it must actually work—a broken product teaches nothing. If you can test your idea with a landing page, spreadsheet, or manual service before building software, do that first.
